Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has once again illustrated how Argentina striker Carlos Tevez would be an excellent addition to his Madrid side. Tevez, who was vital to Juventus’s success in both the Serie A and the Champions League, is reportedly interested in leaving Italy, though it has been said he is looking to return to Argentina. Simeone no doubt sees an opportunity to get the most out of the energetic forward before he returns to his home country. Given the aggressive and tenacious style of football that Atletico looks to play, Simeone has heralded Tevez as a glove-like fit for the club.
With Tevez’s agent apparently in contact with Atletico club officials, this signing looks like a real possibility. Should Atletico acquire Tevez, in addition to Villareal striker Luciano Vietto, along with current man Antoine Griezmann, Atletico looks formidable up front. Atletico have struggled somewhat after selling striker Diego Costa to Chelsea, and so Tevez would certainly be a welcome addition to the strike force. That said, though the Argentine performed exceptionally well this past season, given his age and notorious attitude issues, there is no guarantee that he would continue to produce in the same vein as he has. Simeone, a renowned motivator, would need to draw on all his managerial nous in order to harness Tevez’s ability, should the Argentine decide to move. Football fans as Keith Mann’s Wiki indicates that he is, will eagerly await Tevez’s decision.
